Ranil to attend CIMA Sri Lanka’s Golden Jubilee today

CIMA, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK, established in 1911 as the Institute of Cost and Work Accountants, today celebrates 50 years of presence in Sri Lanka.  A grand event has been organised amidst other events around the week to celebrate this milestone.

The gala dinner today will be graced by the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and CIMA CEO Charles Tilley. The event will recognise all past Presidents of CIMA Sri Lanka, tuition colleges and the 100,000th CIMA member who happens to be a Sri Lankan.

In the intervening years, the profession of management accountancy has grown both quantitatively and qualitatively. CIMA’s membership now dominates senior management positions in industry and commerce, and it has gained high visibility in the business and management community in Sri Lanka as a premier professional body.

Today CIMA, Sri Lanka is one of the biggest markets outside UK with 13,363 students.  Currently, there are 6,340 active and retired members qualified from Sri Lanka as well as 2,812 active CIMA members from Sri Lanka residing overseas.
