Sri Lanka harvested a record crop of 340.2Mkgs during the year, surpassing its previous best of 331.4Mkgs recorded in 2010, John Keells Ltd. said.
“This was a 4.2% increase over 2012,” it added.
There was an increase of 2.8Mkgs from the high grown region whilst the mediums accounted for an increase of 3.9Mkgs. The main contribution however was from the low grown planting districts with a significant increase of 7.2Mkgs during the year.
