Rohitha Rajapaksa takes yet another step towards his space ambitions

Rohitha Rajapaksa, the youngest son of the President and a space engineer having graduated from the University of Southampton, is currently reading for his PHD in the field of Space at the Department of Mathematics, University of Colombo. A recent notable achievement is the completion of his first year of ongoing research on optimisation of space debris mitigation and strategy analysis. The highly-reputed Indian Journal of Science & Technology has published an article written by Rohitha Rajapaksa along with J.K. Wijeratne in its July 2014 issue. Rohitha Rajapaksa also functions as the Chief Technical Director of Sri Lankan satellite operator SupremeSAT and is continuing his efforts to become a career astronaut in the near future. Preliminary training in this regard has already been provided by China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation (CAST) in Beijing, China.
