Rs. 15 b demand for Sampath’s Rs. 5 b debenture issue

Sampath Bank’s Rs. 5 billion debenture issue has drawn demand worth Rs. 15 billion, reflecting a three times oversubscription.
The issuance of 50 million unsecured, subordinated, redeemable listed debentures at Rs. 100 each was closed last week on its official opening day.
The bank said it received 91 applications for 45.3 million debentures at a value of Rs.4.5 billion for Option A and 78 applications for 99.8 million debentures at a value of Rs. 10 billion for Option B.
For option A, there were 88 applications with payment by cheques and RTGS worth Rs. 3.2 billion and three applications with bank guarantee for Rs. 1.3 billion.
On Option B, there were seven applications worth Rs. 5.1 billion with payment by bank guarantee and 71 applications worth Rs. 4.87 billion for payment by cheques and RTGS.
Managers to the issue was NDB Investment Bank.
