Saddled with losses running to billions, budget carrier Mihin Lanka in a bid to fly towards profitability over the weekend received an Airbus A321 from Paris to use on some of the existing routes as well as a five-times-a-week new service to Bahrain, starting from 1 September.
The latest addition, capable of carrying 210 passengers, is the third aircraft in the fleet of Mihin, a brainchild of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, though thus far it has struggled. Mihin flies to eight destinations within Asia and plans to cover more cities later this year.
