Singapore: Singapore maintained the first place as the most expensive city of the world, according to British magazine The Economist, which publishes this kind of information two times a year.
The state-city of the Asian southeast heads a list that includes Paris, Oslo, Zurich, Sydney, Melbourne, Geneva, Copenhagen, Hong Kong and Seoul, in this order the occupants of the first positions, Prensa Latina News Agency reports said.
The reference method to establish this relation is based on the cost of living in New York, which goes in position 22 among 130 analysed urban centres.
This way, in Singapore is necessary to live with an 11% more money than in the American metropolis.
Among the cheapest cities, Pakistani Karachi fills the first place of the ‘top 10’, followed by Bangalore, Caracas, Bombay, Chennai, New Delhi, Damascus, Teheran, Kathmandu and Algiers.
A division of the British magazine, the Economist Intelligence Unit, compares more than 50,000 prices of 160 products and services to establish its considerations of the 10 most expensive and cheaper urban centres of the planet.
