Sirisena aide quits in protest

President Maithripala Sirisena lost a senior aide yesterday, after the decision to grant a nomination to his predecessor, Mahinda Rajapaksa was made public.

Sunil Jayasekera, Deputy Director of the Presidential Media Unit, quit his post in protest of the President’s U-turn. Jayasekera was formerly the Convenor of the Free Media Movement.
