Sri Lanka will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on economic cooperation with the Bangladeshi Government today. The Cabinet also gave approval to sign a host of other MoUs with different institutions of Bangladesh during President Maithripala Sirisena’s visit to the country this week.
Accordingly, the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and Investment Development Authority of Bangladesh will sign a separate MoU on investment cooperation, while an MoU between the Sri Lanka Standards Institution and Standards and Research Institution of Bangladesh will be signed during the visit, along with an MoU between the Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel and Chittagong BGMEA Fashion and Technological Institution in Bangladesh.
Further, Cabinet also approved the signing of MoUs between the Ceylon Shipping Corporation and National Shipping Corporation of Bangladesh on naval enterprises, an MoU between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for cooperation in the higher education field and an MoU between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on information and broadcasting.
