The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has further expanded its business in the first half of this year, according to its Chairman Dr. Priyath Bandu Wickrama
He said between January and June 2013, container volumes handled at SLPA terminals have increased by 6.7% to 1.27 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in comparison to a year earlier.
“During the first half of this year SLPA was able to win container vessels belonging to four main line services at Jaya Container Terminal (JCT), marking a distinctive achievement of container operations at the port,” Dr. Wickrama said in marking SLPA’s 35th anniversary on Friday.
