The 35th National Conference of Chartered Accountants will be inaugurated today (23) under the patronage of South African High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Geoff Q.M. Doidge, at Waters Edge, Battaramulla. Organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), the conference which draws over 1,200 chartered accountants and business leaders annually, will also feature Priyan Fernando, Chairman of Brandix Lanka Ltd., who will deliver the keynote speech at the inauguration. Dubbed as one of the country’s most anticipated corporate events, this year’s national conference will revolve around the inspiring theme ‘Rethink to Revive’ where participants will be educated on the post financial meltdown era in a world of ever depleting resources and ever increasing demand and the role professionals have to play to convert challenges into opportunities by rethinking existing business models and conventional wisdom to cater to the growing demands and changes. The conference inauguration will be followed by two days of technical sessions, on 24 and 25 of October where renowned local and foreign experts will share their insights and expertise on this year’s theme.
