Sri Lanka, Belarus agree to avoid double taxation

Sri Lanka and Belarus recently held discussions on reaching an agreement to avoid double taxation on income. The negotiations between the two countries were held at the Ministry of Taxes and Duties in Minsk, Belarus recently. Sri Lanka’s Finance and Planning Ministry said the negotiations between Sri Lanka and Belarus on ‘Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income’ ended successfully. The Sri Lankan delegation was headed by Senior Deputy Commissioner General of the Inland Revenue Department H.B.A. Senevirathne and the Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Ella Selitskaya. Representatives from both the Ministry of Finance and Planning and the Inland Revenue Department of Sri Lanka, and Ministry of Taxes and Duties of Belarus also participated in the negotiations.
