Sri Lanka Tourism will be celebrating World Tourism Day on 27 September with z number of tourism awareness projects initiated under the theme ‘Tourism and Community Development’. Sri Lanka Tourism, under the guidance of the Ministry of Economic Development, has collaborated with the Divinaguma Development Department in arranging Tourism Awareness programs in Negombo, Hambantota, Galle, Ella and Passikudah. The main focus of the program is to empower the rural sectors of the tourism industry by highlighting the importance of improving technical skills related to tourism, attitude development and generation of new ideas to get the maximum benefit out of the Tourism Economy.
