Sri Lanka invites more investors from Asian, African countries

Jakarta Post: Sri Lanka has vowed to streamline investment permit systems in the country in its efforts to lure more investment from Asian and African countries, an official said on Tuesday.
Board of Investment Executive Director Dumida Ariyasinghe said his Government was working on a one-stop permit policy, post-investment services and a tax holiday incentive for investors.
“Investors from any country can enjoy the facilities that can boost business [in Sri Lanka],” Ariyasinghe said as quoted by Antara news agency during the Asian-African Business Summit in Jakarta.
According to him, of ASEAN member countries, Malaysia was the biggest investor in Sri Lanka with a total of $ 1.2 billion in investment, followed by Singapore with $ 600 million and Indonesia with $ 25 million.
