Excitement is building in Sri Lanka as Colombo prepares to host the 2012 CIMA Global Business Challenge (GBC) in partnership with Barclays from 23 to 24 July.
Shown on MTV, the GBC final is held in partnership with Barclays. The competition involves teams presenting a business case which is then judged by a panel of industry experts from organisations across the globe including CIMA, Barclays and Unilever.
The GBC is an international competition designed to bring out the best in potential young business leaders, showcasing their talent on a global stage.
The competition has continued to grow from strength to strength, evolving eight regions and countries in 2009 to encompass 22 in 2012; demonstrating the rising success and reach of the event. CIMA is already inundated with enquiries for the for the 2013 competition. The eventual winner will have outshone over 14,000 other teams to emerge as global champions in Sri Lanka.
This year competing countries and regions include: Australia, Bangladesh, China, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, the Middle East, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the UK, Vietnam and Zambia.
Andrew Harding, Managing Director at CIMA, stated: “CIMA is hugely excited to hold the 2012 GBC final in Sri Lanka. The GBC is the most important student event in CIMA’s calendar as it gives the world an opportunity to discover the business leaders of tomorrow and allows these future leaders an opportunity to showcase their talents on a global stage.
