SriLankan Airlines has increased its frequency of flights between Muscat and Colombo from five days a week to daily flights.
This measure has been taken due to the increasing number of outbound tourists travelling to Sri Lanka from Oman.
According to the tourist arrival statistics of the year, there has been a 76% increase in the number of Omani tourists visiting the country. The amount of Omani tourists has increased to 3,850 from last year’s 2,300 and Sri Lanka has become one of the most sought after tourist destinations among Omani nationals.
SriLankan Airlines also offers onward connections to all other South Indian destinations such as Trivandrum, Cochin, Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, Bangalore, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Canton.
SriLankan Airlines officials said that there is a great business potential for it in the Middle East airports and it is planning to increase frequencies to many of the Middle East airports.
