Sri Lanka Cricket has had its ICC membership reinstated in full following last month’s elections, the International Cricket Council announced yesterday in a media release after a Board meeting in Dubai.
According to the release the SLC is now, “entitled to full funding and attendance and voting rights at the Board and Full Council”.
Sri Lanka Cricket were given observer status last year and their voting rights suspended after the ICC deemed that SLC had contravened the ICC Constitution when the Government appointed an interim committee to oversee cricketing affairs in the country. The committee was eventually dissolved and elections were held in early January.
