SriLankan Airlines’ is increasing seat capacity to Saudi Arabia, by adding a 314-seater Airbus A340 on Colombo Jeddah route, to facilitate the demand from special Umrah groups, travelling to observe religious rites.
The new service will operate every Sunday commencing from 6 May and continue until 2 September, departing Colombo at 1520 hours, arriving in Jeddah at 1850 hours. It departs Jeddah the same day at 2000 hours and arrives in Colombo at 0450 hours. The A340 is configured to 18 business and 296 economy class seats. The new Sunday flight is added to the current thrice-weekly schedule, which operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. SriLankan is also considering the addition of a third service to Riyadh.
