SriLankan Airlines second lowest carbon emitting Asian carrier

SriLankan Airlines is ranked as second among 25 carriers in the Asian region with the lowest carbon foot print ranking by a leading traveller magazine Business Traveller.

Endorsing SriLankan Airlines the magazine’s Jan/Feb 2016 issue gave the national carrier overall efficiency points of 72.8 only to be topped by Transasia Airways of Taiwan which scored 73.4 points whilst Jet Airways of India came in as third with 70.8 points.

Moreover SriLankan Airlines is placed at number 17 in the world ranking order with regard to the carbon foot print.

The other 22 airlines mentioned by Business Traveller’s ‘Asian international carriers with the lowest carbon foot print ranking’ in order were; Eva Airways, Vietnam Airlines, Emirates, Thai Airways, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Qatar Airways, Shenzhen Airlines Etihad Airways, Sichuan Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Shandong Airlines, Air China, Air New Zealand, Qantas Airways, Singapore Airlines, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Garuda Indonesia and Silk Air.
