Standard Chartered’s Sean Wallace visits Sri Lanka

Standard Chartered’s Group Head, Client Coverage, Sean R. Wallace, is visiting Sri Lanka today. His primary area of expertise focuses on leading the bank’s management who have responsibility for handling its corporate and institutional clients globally. Wallace said of his visit to the island: “I am delighted to be back in Sri Lanka, an important country in the Bank’s Asian franchise. We have a number of long standing and highly important Sri Lankan clients and we look forward to strengthening these decades-old relationships during these exciting times for Sri Lanka.” Colin Pawley, Client Coverage Head, Sri Lanka, speaking of the bank’s distinguished visitor, said: “We are extremely fortunate to have firsthand access to Sean being a member of the Wholesale Bank Management Group and a direct report to the Group Executive Director and CEO of Wholesale Bank. During his visit he will meet with staff as well as some of our important clients.” Wallace is based in Singapore. He joined Standard Chartered as Group Head of Corporate Finance in March 2008. Prior to joining the Bank he worked at JPMorgan where he served, variously, as Co-Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific ex-Japan and Head of Capital Markets, Asia Pacific. In his personal and professional capacity he has visited Sri Lanka over 50 times. He graduated from Harvard College in 1985 with an A.B. in History and Economics and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Wallace is yet another key member of the bank’s senior leadership to visit the country this year, and signals the importance with which Standard Chartered views the significance of the local operation.
