State Minister Piyankara Jayaratne resigns

State Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils Piyankara Jayaratne yesterday tendered his resignation to President Maithripala Sirisena. 

Jayaratne, who is a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), served as Cabinet Minister of Civil Aviation in President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Government and is expected to join the Joint Opposition in the Parliament.
