Stock market ‘Goda’?

Soon after the appointment of Dr. Nalaka Godahewa as the new Chairman at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) yesterday, the funny tale in Sinhala doing the rounds in stock market circles was “Market Goda!” rhyming with the first four letters of his surname.

Godahewa’s appointment has raised both praise and concern among different stakeholders within and outside the capital market.
