Susantha appointed to SriLankan Airlines Board

Business leader and Chairman of premier blue chip John Keells Holdings (JKH) Susantha Ratnayake has been appointed to the Board of Directors of national carrier SriLankan Airlines.The appointment with immediate effect comes after Ratnayake  stepped down last week as Chairman of Sri Lanka Tea Board following a tenure of one and half years.

When news broke of Ratnayake’s resignation from Tea Board, the tea industry noted that during his tenure he provided an invaluable service, resolving a host of issues, and that his absence would be missed.

Ratnayake is no stranger to SriLankan Airlines as he was already serving on the Board of SriLankan Airlines Catering Ltd, a profit making subsidiary of the national carrier. Ratnayake is also the Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce the premier private sector lobby in addition to a member of the Board of Waters Edge.
