Ceylon Chamber of Commerce’s outgoing Chairman Susantha Ratnayake yesterday expressed the hope that the private sector would forge ahead with a collective voice.
“The last two years have been difficult as there were many issues. We won some and lost many. However, the silver lining is that the private sector came together in one voice to discuss issues. I hope it continues in the years to come as well,” said Ratnayake, who is also the Chairman of John Keells Holdings.
He also emphasised that recent issues faced by US Federal Reserve surprised many and added to the uncertainties and the reaction of the market showed that the private and the country could not be complacent and needed out-of-the-box thinking.
