Batting together for the last time in Tests, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara hug each other after they added 107 runs for the third wicket yesterday in the second Test versus Pakistan at the SSC. It was the duo’s 19th century stand. Mahela ended his Test career with 11,814 runs at an average of 49.84. He reached his half-century which was his 50th early in the morning and was out for 54. Mahela is by far the world’s best fielder in Test cricket with 204 catches so far in 148 Tests, achieving more catches per innings as against number one Rahul Dravid (210 catches) or number three Jacque Kallis (200 catches) – Pic courtesy AFP
