Business leader and MP Thilanga Sumathipala has been invited to deliver a special lecture on ‘Leadership for Transformation’ at the Keimyung University in South Korea on 18 April.
His invitation and presentation is based on his past experience in the corporate sector and national institutions such as Sri Lanka Telecom/Mobitel/Sri Lanka Cricket and as an Executive Director at Parliamentarian for Global Action (PGA).
Keimyung University founded in 1954 comprises three campuses, 99 Majors in 19 Undergraduate Colleges and two Faculties and nine Graduate schools with 903 Post graduate courses and over 27,000 students.
It is one of the foremost educational powerhouses in Korea and has been awarded six national educational reform and development projects such as the Enhancement of University Education Capacity, Leaders in Industry-College Cooperation (LINC), and last year’s Advancement of College Education (ACE).
With its unwavering commitment to academic excellence through these and other projects, Keimyung University is the place of ‘better teaching and better learning’.
The presence and presentation by Sumathipala at Keimyung University is expected to enhance the bilateral ties that have existed between Sri Lanka and South Korea since 1977 and will enhance the relationships of Keimyung University students with students of Sri Lanka.
It will also pave the way in moulding a better understanding about our culture in their minds while seeking ways and means of collaborative higher educational ventures between the Keimyung University and the universities in Sri Lanka.
