Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot, a firm friend of the Government of Sri Lanka, made a brief stopover at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) last evening.
Prime Minister Abbot was received by his Sri Lankan Counterpart, Premier D.M. Jayaratne at the BIA where he was in transit until his aircraft could refuel.
The Australian Premier was returning to Canberra after attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
