Wimal Weerawansa grilled by CID

United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Wimal Weerawansa yesterday gave a stament to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over his wife’s passport issue.

The MP was summoned to the CID for questioning. On Friday the CID informed the Court that the diplomatic passport and NIC of Shashi Weerawansa had been forged.

The CID also informed Court that the Attorney General’s advice would be sought with regard to the next course of action to be taken against Shashi Weerawansa. The case was postponed to 11 September.
