Work on Colombo-Kandy Expressway starts today

Construction work on the Colombo-Kandy expressway will start today under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The Chairman of the Road Development Authority Saman Bandara said that the construction work on the first segment from Kadawatha to Mirigama would start on Monday.

The second stage of the expressway will be constructed from Mirigama to Kurunegala and under the third stage it will be extended from Kurunegala to Kandy. Construction will also be carried out from Kurunegala to Dambulla as well.
