The push for cyber security in Sri Lanka is in partnership with the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council), of the USA which is the world’s largest vendor neutral cyber security education provider.
Apart from Russian Natalya, EC-Council President Jay Bavisi, and top experts from CISCO and Microsoft which are also strategic will be associated with the events which also includes a night-hack demonstrating live hacking. The summit will also feature high profile international IT security experts including those who have worked with the Interpol and Fortune 500 companies.
The Breakfast Forum for CEOs will focus on making cyber security a boardroom agenda whilst the full-day Summit targeted at IT personnel in both public and private sectors and others will focus on the importance of cyber security as Sri Lanka progresses towards a $ 100 billion economy.
Natalya, a graduate from the Moscow Institute of Electronic Machine Building (MIEM) with a master’s degree in applied mathematics and a bachelor’s degree in business from the UK’s Open University, in 1994 started working at KAMI Information Technologies Center where she was involved in managing an antivirus project, AVP, which in 1997 was turned into Kaspersky Lab company. Natalya co-founded the company and became the first CEO and later as Chairperson.
In 2003 being Kaspersky lab CEO, Natalya initiated the set-up of a daughter company InfoWatch, focused on developing solutions to protect corporate confidential data from leakage.
In 2007 Kasperskaya stepped back from CEO position in Kaspersky Lab and took over a daughter company, InfoWatch, taking the CEO position. Today Natalya is an active participant of international business community life and actively invests in high tech companies and her firm InfoWatch Group works in the sphere of information security.
Natalya Kaspersky holds multiple awards in Russian and International Business and IT. Last year Natalya was Leader of ‘Top 1,000 highest Russian managers of 2013’ in IT according to Kommersant, a leading Russian business daily and Association of Russian managers whilst more recently she won the Best Technology Business Entrepreneur, Women in Technology MEA 2014 awards, Dubai.
She was also a Bronze medallist of ‘Top-100 most influential Russian women in business’ rating and ‘Russian Business Leader of the Year 2012’ award honouring her remarkable contribution to the progress of the Russian IT community, according to Horasis, the Global visions community.
CICRA Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said that Cyber Security Summit 2013 was a tremendous success and he expected that this year’s summit to create more awareness amongst the corporates on cyber security risks and how to mitigate those perils.
“As cyber security threats skyrocket and not even a day passes by without a cyber-security breach on a corporate or a government entity on its IT infrastructure, we are pleased to see that LankaPay has joined hands with ‘EC-Council Cyber Security Summit 2014’ in Sri Lanka,” Dayaratne said.
The main objective of the summit is to create awareness on the importance of cyber security and to provide top officers in the Government, top private sector leaders, IT professionals with the best practices in acquiring, implementing, managing and measuring information security postures of their organisations and countermeasures.
The summit will also highlight latest flaws in information security that affects the global community including corporations and governments. Discussions and presentations will revolve around some of the most malicious attacks and potential threats surrounding the security field.
