Petroleum Resources Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa yesterday dismissed speculation that Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Chairman Tilak Collure had resigned due to differences with him.
Yapa explained that Collure had accepted the appointment for a limited time and that he wished to retire after a long and “fruitful” public sector service.
“He has made the decision for personal reasons. There has never been any disagreement between us. In fact when he handed with the resignation letter I asked him to stay on but when he gave his reasons there was nothing I could do beyond that point.”
