USA-based leader in state-of-the-art hydrogen energy storage technologies – Harnyss USA in partnership with Sri Lanka-based power and energy firm – Anka EnergyX, conducted the ‘Power of Hydrogen’ industry event on 1 March, at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo.
The event which welcomed over 70 participants was the first open discussion and knowledge-sharing event held in Sri Lanka, which was focused on creating dialogue and inspiring innovation around how hydrogen storage and smart grid technology can be integrated with other renewable energy systems such as solar and wind, in order to enhance their efficiency and reliability. The event delved into scalable and flexible technology, and how this can assist SMEs and large-scale industrial applications for a greener future.
The partnership with Harnyss USA enables Anka EnergyX to introduce hydrogen power solutions across Sri Lanka for the first time, with a focus on clean energy solutions, which is a significant step towards reducing the country’s dependence on fossil fuels and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
The event prepared its participants and encouraged them to work towards overcoming the challenges of intermittent renewable energy sources and achieve a more reliable and resilient energy system for Sri Lanka. As part of a series of partner projects that are aimed at building an energy-independent Sri Lanka by integrating solar, wind, and hydro global practices in Sri Lanka, the partnership is expected to continue making Sri Lanka’s energy industry more independent.
