More than 1,600 people from all over Sri Lanka’s Wayamba Province came together on the 22nd of February 2020 in a first-of-its-kind congregation, for the inaugural ‘Family Savari Carnival’ at the Udawalpola Grounds in Kurunegala.
Open to Ceylinco Life policyholders, their family members and special invitees of Ceylinco Life branches in the area, the Carnival in Kurunegala was attended by people from Kurunegala, Alawwa, Anamaduwa, Galgamuwa, Kuliyapitiya, Melsiripura, Maho, Nikaweratiya, Narammala, Panduwasnuwara, Pannala, Wariyapola and Mawathagama.
For their entertainment, Ceylinco Life provided a mini merry-go-round, mini train rides, jet rides, bouncy castles, digital and virtual reality games, balloon darts, a magic show, magic balloons, face painting, live cartoon characters, art and craft, and free candy floss and popcorn, all the ingredients of a day at the carnival. A band was in attendance with a stage and lights to provide the carnival atmosphere, and families that participated in various games and won or were runners-up won attractive prizes.
This was an extension of the company’s ‘Family Savari’ concept, under which more than 26,000 Sri Lankans have enjoyed overseas and local family holidays over the past 12 years, and another 2,620 people will benefit this year in addition to the 1,600 that attended the Carnival.
