Feedertech hosts gathering for Sri Lankan shipping and ports community

Feedertech, which is a renowned Feeder carrier in the shipping industry under the dynamic vision of Chairman Ali Maghami and the leadership of CEO/Director Jeanie Tan, were in Colombo, along with their highly professional team, to meet and engage their customers and other stakeholders. They also had strategic discussions on their expansion plans with their local partners/agents led by renowned industry personality Saliya Senanayake and their very efficient management team.

Headquartered in Singapore, Feedertech offers premium Common Carrier/Feeder services, catering to its customers’ needs by exercising utmost flexibility to meet the dynamic demands of the market, and strongly emphasising on quality over quantity by practicing service integrity and reliability.

The Singapore-based company started services in 2003, had gradual expansion over the years, launching various innovative common carrier services. In 2016, the company began to embark on upsizing all service’s vessel capacity as well as operating shuttles between Colombo and Chittagong, in addition to a variety of other services to meet the demands of its customers. In 2018, Feedertech had carried a total of 750,000 TEU and project same to reach 800,000 TEU in 2019.

Colombo being strategically positioned and with the development of as a major transhipment hub to connect all west and east trade routes, Feedertech has had a long-term association with the Port of Colombo. 

Feedertech is an innovative Common Carrier/Feeder with the widest range of countries/ports connecting Port of Colombo with UAE/Gulf, Pakistan; India; Bangladesh, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, China, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia. The vessel sizes range from 8000 TEU to 1500 TEU, and all major shipping lines and NVOCC companies are their customers and/or partners.

The Feedertech’s Sri Lanka team, led by Managing Director Saliya Senanayake along with Ali Maghami, hosted the Sri Lankan shipping and ports community to cocktails on 26 February at the Shangri-La Hotel Colombo. 

It was in unison that Maghami and Senanayake emphasised in their respective speeches the importance of Sri Lanka and how Feedertech plans to be a part of the development. They also thanked all customers, terminal and service partners and the very efficient and hardworking team in Sri Lanka, who can make the difference.

Ministry of Ports and Shipping Secretary and Industry Professional Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake spoke at the occasion and thanked Feedertech for the unwavering support given to SLPA, Jaya Container Terminal and the Port of Colombo, and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours. -pix by Sameera Wijesinghe
