HNB PLC commenced 2025 with a spirit of unity and purpose, hosting a multi-faith ceremony at its Head Office to invoke blessings for its customers, employees, and stakeholders.
The ceremony was graced by HNB Managing Director/CEO Damith Pallewatte, together with Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sanjay Wijemanne alongside the Bank’s leadership team and staff members. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for HNB under Pallewatte’s stewardship, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to resilience, growth, and service excellence.
Addressing the gathering, Managing Director/CEO Damith Pallewatte extended his warm wishes for 2025, calling for renewed determination and collective effort to overcome challenges and seize opportunities in the year ahead.
“As we step into 2025, I am filled with optimism for our nation, and our organisation, and gratitude for the remarkable team at my side. It is a privilege to lead an institution that has stood as a pillar of strength and stability for Sri Lanka for 'over 135 years'. This year, we continue our journey of transformation—empowering businesses, strengthening communities, and supporting the aspirations of our customers,” Pallewatte stated.
Reflecting on the Bank’s legacy and recent milestones, he emphasized the importance of adaptability and innovation in navigating today’s dynamic financial landscape. The ceremony, enriched by prayers and blessings from Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, and Islamic faith leaders, underscored HNB’s dedication to inclusivity and cultural harmony.
“As we face the opportunities and challenges of the new year, I am confident that we will rise together, united in purpose and fueled by a shared vision for success,” Pallewatte concluded.
