Staying true to its yearly tradition, Park Street Mews, the city’s ultimate venue for F&B and home to eight different restaurants all on one street, was recently lit up to mark the start of the festive season in Colombo.
Renowned Sri Lankan cricketer, philanthropist, frequent visitor and friend of the Mews, guest of honour Mahela Jayawardene kicked off proceedings by lighting up the street. The countdown revealed this year’s theme – a burst of coloured chandeliers; combining the magnificence of an elegant chandelier with fun bright colours that pay homage to our tropical isle, creating a street full of vibrancy and festive cheer!
The evening would not have been complete without the delicious bites and seasonal cocktails and mocktails from each of the fabulous restaurants along the street, and a Christmas-inspired performance of well-loved carols and festive favourites by Tanuja Perera and her tribe of mini, singing reindeer. Santa Clause also made his annual visit, this time with a photo-opportunity for children and adults alike to snap the perfect Christmas photo. Commenting on this year’s light-up, Tasneem Moosajee, Developer of Park Street Mews stated: “Christmas is a time to bring family and friends together in a spirit of love, joy and hope. It’s a time to unwind, let go of the past and look back on all of the wonderful moments that we have cherished throughout the years. Every year our light-up is made possible by the enthusiasm and joint participation of all our wonderful restaurants down the street. I would like to thank them as well as our patrons for coming together to celebrate the start of the season with us.”
Throughout the holiday season, Park Street Mews will serve as a place to connect and spend time with your loved ones, a safe place to relax and celebrate this special time of year. All of the restaurants and bars at the Mews including Monsoon, Chambers, Kuuraku, Park Street Trattoria, Café Français by Pourcel, the Mews Restaurant, Curve Bar, and the soon-to-be moved and renovated Butter Boutique will have specially curated menus and offerings to make the city’s best loved street, the absolute place to be throughout this holiday season – Pix by Sameera Wijesinghe
