A weekend of Vesak

Preparations for Vesak began days in advance with men, women and children across the island crafting Vesak pandols, flags and stalls to be displayed on main city streets. Also captured on camera was a Jaya Pirith held at the BMICH. The Vesak festival commemorates the birth and enlightenment of Buddha and his attainment of Nirvana and will be celebrated this weekend
