Awarding business excellence

The National Business Excellence Summit was conducted for the first time by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka on 21 and 22 March 2014 at the BMICH. The National Business Excellence Awards – the flagship event of the National Chamber of Commerce – has been conducted for the last 10 consecutive years to identify and award excellent businesses in Sri Lanka .The National Chamber to take the excellence conception further introduced The National Business Excellence Summit, which was held for the first time, at a two-day event at the BMICH. Presentations of case studies by heads of leading business organisations who were winners of National Business Excellence Awards for the past 10 years, were made on their journey to achieve business excellence. Development of quality and productivity in Sri Lanka was the theme of the event. There were Team Excellence competitions on quality circle and continuous improvement and competitions on poster/slogan and kaizen by leading companies.  Additionally school debate/quiz programs were also conducted at the event. Awards were presented to the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners at the conclusion of a successful event
