Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association AGM

The Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association held its Annual General Meeting at the Amaya Beach Passikudah recently. The chief guest at this year’s event was Paddy Withrana while Dr. Don S. Jayaweera was the guest of honour. The AGM also attracted 300 of the association’s members along with their families The Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association was established in 1971 three years after the inauguration of the Ceylon Hotel School at the Samudra Building. The Association was incorporated by Act of Parliament No 21 of 1984. The founder President of the CHSGA was Malin Hapugoda. Thereafter the Association was carried forward by eminent individuals who are leading personalities in hotel and tourism industry. The main aim of the CHSGA is to serve the Industry while assisting the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management. At present CHSGA membership is over 1300 members consisting Fellow, Member, Licentiate and Associate. Under the leadership of Eksath Wijeratne the President together with all the executive committee members the association has immensely contributed to the professional development of the leisure industry in Sri Lanka. The New Office Bearers of CHSGA are President Eksath Wijeratne, Vice Presidents Sanjeeva Perera and Dhaithya Krawage, General Secretary Priyal Perera, Treasurer Priyan Wijeratne, Immediate Past President B H R Sariffodeen  and Editor Prasanna De Mel, while the AGM committee was Chaired by Niroshan De Silva and supported by Sarath Fernando, Trevine Gomes, S Anandaraj and Sisitha Weerasekara and the rest.
