Control Union Sri Lanka launches new corporate identity

The annual client party and fellowship of Control Unions Inspections Ltd. was held at Cinnamon Grand recently. The event created a gathering for top management of plantations, food-processing industries, wood based industries, exporters, textile industries and agriculture industries as well as the government institutions and universities. Along with the launching of the new corporate identity of Control Union starting from 1 July 2013, the new corporate identity of Control Union was also introduced to the gathering at the event. The Chairman – Asia Region of Control Union, Dirk Teichert’s participation highlighted at the event. Control Union Inspections Ltd., a member of Control Union, presents a wide range of programs in agriculture, food, feed, forest products, textiles and bio energy, which are managed in a more decentralised way, with accreditations that reduce dependency on any one authoritative body. Control Union offers a global one-stop-shop for a wide range of certification programs, which are accepted by authorities in nearly every country. By understanding the importance of impartiality and objectivity, and how to professionally manage conflicts of interest, sustainability has been the main focus of its certification services from the beginning. Key program issues are food safety, sustainability, recycling, footprint and social aspects. Empowered with a network of dedicated experts who are familiar with social, environmental and economic auditing along with the practices of farmers, foresters, processors and traders, Control Union helps with the set-up, implementation and running of programs on a global scale, being a well-established, high-quality, independent and reliable service provider across the world. Control Union also offers inspection, sampling and supervision expertise to support their clients in their contractual obligations, and for meeting feed and food safety regulations or performance criteria. Inspection services cover a wide range of commodities such as coal, grains, oilseeds, vegetable oils, sugar, molasses and by products. Control Union’s specialized portfolio includes agricultural products that are handled as dry bulk or liquid, coal and other minerals, fertilizers, biomass and bio-fuels as well as soft line inspections for consumer textile products. Control Union participate in ISO and EN standardisation committees and the company includes superintendent members of GAFTA and FOSFA.
