Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce celebrates 20th anniversary

Looking back on a decade of progress and achievements, Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 20th anniversary on 27 January at the Sri Lanka Singapore Conference Hall, Hambantota.
A new logo was also launched marking the dramatic change in its visual identity since its inception.
Chief Guest of the event was President Mahinda Rajapaksa while Disaster Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera and Southern Province Governor Kumari Balasooriya participated as special Guests. A large number of diplomats, representatives from National Regional Chambers of Commerce in Sri Lanka and business community of the Hambantota District were among the distinguished guest list at the event.
During the event, HDCC felicitated past presidents of the chamber – Kumara Jayasinghe and K. Liyanaarachi while Keerthi Munasinghe received an appreciation for his volunteer service as the most long standing committee member from inception of HDCC. Priyantha Wijewardana and Sudhammika Wickramanayake were felicitated for their long standing service while local media representative Raja Waidyasekera was recognised for long standing media service.
HDCC also recognised 20 years continuous membership of HDCC and 34 members received awards.
