Sri Lanka Cricket on Saturday held a special ceremony to mark the arrival of the World Twenty20 trophy at the Race Course Ground in Colombo 7. Raymond Palmer of the International Cricket Council (ICC) presented the trophy to Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara and SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala.
Cricket fans were invited to the Race Course Ground to be a part of the celebration organised by Sri Lanka Cricket. Team members of the current World Twenty20 champions Sri Lanka were also present at this occasion. Yesterday the trophy was displayed at Galle Face Green for the general public to view from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. Today the trophy will be at the SLC Head Office (SSC Grounds). Schoolchildren in and around Colombo are invited to participate in viewing and taking pictures with the trophy before it is flown out to India for the 2016 World Cup
