The AGM of Master Mariners of Sri Lanka was held recently at the Hotel Galadari. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, accompanied by Mrs. Colombage. Master Mariners of Sri Lanka was formed in 1990 as a professional organisation of Sri Lankan Master Mariners or simply Class 1 Licensed ships’ captains. Without the professional input of a ship’s captain, no ship moves around the world and no cargo could be carried. The CMM joined the Organization of Professional Associations in 2004.
