National Observance of 70th United Nations Day

The United Nations Association of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and United Nations Sri Lanka had organised the 70th National Observance of the United Nations Day; this year celebrating the 60th anniversary of Sri Lanka’s membership to the UN and the 65th anniversary of the United Nations Association. It was held at the Bishops College Auditorium, Colombo recently. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Harsha De Silva was present as Chief Guest and Acting Resident Coordinator and Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations FAO Representative for Sri Lanka and Maldives Bath S. Crawford was present as Guest of Honour. The Awards were presented to the highest honorary member and for invaluable service to the UN and Association. Also special awards were presented to those who supported the Association.
