Port power

The largest gathering of the world port community, the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH), commenced the World Port Conference held every two years in Colombo yesterday, representing 200 ports and 140 port-related organisations of about 90 countries across the world and as the biggest regional port event scheduled in Sri Lanka, drew over 250 foreign participants. Held alongside this event was the ‘Sri Lanka International Air Freight, Shipping & Logistics Expo 2012,’ the first-ever international exhibition of its kind focusing on the logistics industry of Sri Lanka, organised by CEMS-Global USA and CEMS Lanka, in association with Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) – Pix by Upul Abayasekara
