Racecourse revival

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa on Saturday declared open the fully-refurbished mini pavilion of the old Racecourse Grounds in Colombo, which has been turned into a fully-equipped modern shopping and restaurant complex. The racecourse at Cinnamon Gardens, neglected for many decades, was developed under the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development. Now it consists of renovated pavilions and a modern shopping and restaurant complex. The Minister opened the complex in the presence of Defence and Urban Development Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who initiated the program.
