Rolex created a special exhibition celebrating the new Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40, which was displayed in Sri Lanka exclusively at Chatham Luxury.
The Oyster Perpetual Day-Date, Rolex’s most prestigious model, is known as the ‘Presidents’ watch’, thanks to the heads of state and other eminent figures who have worn it over the years. From its launch in 1956, the Day-Date represented the pinnacle of watchmaking at the time. The new generation was unveiled in 2015. Visitors to the exhibition were invited to discover the history and technology behind the Day-Date, presented on five panels whose configuration is inspired by the model’s iconic President bracelet. In addition to 3D, interactive videos, archive photographs and an exploded view of a movement, several of the new collection’s models were on display. Chatham Luxury, Sri Lanka’s first luxury multi-brand watch store, is the authorised retailer for a select group of the world’s finest wristwatches. Each of the carefully selected brands available at Chatham Luxury comes with a long pedigree and is among the most prestigious of Swiss timepieces. Pix by Upul Abayasekera
