Sri Lankan-German Street Festival comes alive for diamond jubilee

As part of celebrations of the diamond jubilee of diplomatic ties, a colourful and entertaining Sri Lankan-German Street festival was held recently at the Green Path, Colombo 7. The festival included a parade of vintage cars, performances by German brass band ‘Talking Horns,’ football, puppet theatre, fashion show and street theatre and an interactive display of German partner organisations in Sri Lanka. Colombo Mayor M.J.M. Muzzamil and Ambassador Dr. Juergen Mohard officiated at the event which saw participation from several schools and private sector companies as well as German citizens and Sri Lankans
