‘Ceylon Tea Moments’, Sri Lanka’s first ever Ceylon Tea House introduced by the Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) was opened by First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa at the Grandstand of the Race Course Complex in Colombo on the invitation of Janaki Kuruppu, Chairperson of Sri Lanka Tea Board.
Fully owned by SLTB and managed by SriLankan Catering, ‘Ceylon Tea Moments’ is dedicated to promoting Pure Ceylon Tea.
‘Ceylon Tea Moments’ specialises in serving freshly brewed hot tea and a wide variety of tea concoctions, and tea infused food. What differentiates ‘Ceylon Tea Moments’ from other tea lounges is that it is the first tea house designed to promote the best of Ceylon Tea brands in one place, making a wide range of international Ceylon Tea brands available for consumption as well as purchase. It is a one-stop-shop to experience and taste a cup of local tea from the seven tea growing regions of Nuwara Eliya, Dimbula, Uva, Udapussellawa, Kandy, Ruhuna and Sabaragamuwa.
SLTB plans to expand ‘Ceylon Tea Moments’ to other strategic tourist destinations in Sri Lanka as well as extending the concept overseas via a franchise for Ceylon Tea Lovers outside the country. Tea is a deeply rooted habit for all Sri Lankans and ‘Ceylon Tea Moments’ is method of celebrating the century old culture.
Located at one of Colombo’s landmark buildings famous for its historic and architectural uniqueness; Race Course Complex, ‘Ceyon Tea Moments’ is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. serving anything ranging from a typical Sri Lankan dish to international dishes.
