Theme Resorts & Spas launches Maniumpathy in Colombo

Theme Resorts & Spas proudly announced the latest addition to its collection ‘Maniumpathy’ – a heritage home in the heart of Colombo. A true treasure located in the heart of Colombo, Maniumpathy was home to five generations of a family. The structure originally built over a century ago, has been carefully restored, preserving its historical splendour, transforming it into a modern-day boutique hotel of just eight suites. Victorian architecture, a family’s heritage and style come together to create a flavour and personality that is among the best that Colombo has to offer. To celebrate its launch, a Wine Tasting was hosted at Maniumpathy with Master Sommelier Sabastien Pradal last weekend. Owner of the commercial agency ‘Number Wine’ and restaurants ‘Pascade’ – in Paris & ‘Régalade’ by the Louvres Museum, at the age of 42 Sebastien Pradal is one of the youngest master sommelier in the world. Having won the best French Sommelier trophy in 1997 he is known to be one of the best wine specialists in Paris. A strong believer of conservation Sebastien actively promotes the organic and biodynamic wine production process. The Wine Tasting with a collection of a variety of wines was graced by Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs John Amarathunge, Minister for Special Assignments Sarath Amunugama and a selected few corporate leaders and industry members.
