The German Embassy in Colombo celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Unification of Germany in grand style at the ambassador's residence hosted by the German Ambassador Jens Ploetner and his wife Mike.

Taking precautions against any handiwork of the weather gods, a beautiful tent had been erected inside which was spread the vast array of German and Sri Lankan dishes. The invitees were seen in high spirits, dining, wining and celebrating German Unification Day, and the weather gods being benevolent gave room for the invitees to scatter all over the expansive garden while enjoying the German music and the lives of Germans on a wide screen that had been set up for the occasion
